Vocal Music 1986 - 1988 |

In early 2008, I began the long process of copying all my old VHS tapes to DVD. While cataloging everything, I ran across all the tapes I made of the Helix Choral Department from 1986 - 1988. In the interest of preserving these unique pieces of history, I sent all the Helix tapes to be professionally mastered to digital. The resulting DVDs listed below comprise everything I taped - nothing, no matter how embarrassing, has been left out. The results are about what you would expect from 20+ year old tapes made with mid-80's video technology. The sound is mostly good throughout and the video ranges from excellent to somewhat greenish (due to the combination of light source and a manual white balance on the camera). There are mistakes here and there, mostly due to my not watching the battery level or trying to shoot “creatively”. After seeing the Pops shows again for the first time almost twenty years, I remember clearly which girls in the Ensemble I thought were hot as they receive a lot of screentime - I guess that's how it goes when a teenage boy is taping girls in leotards. Overall, everything looks great and was a blast to see again. Those were some good times for me and I hope for you too. Enjoy the memories. |
